Wedding Invitations

A common question we get asked is when should I buy my
wedding invitations and when should I mail them? Well the first answer is the
easiest, although the answer varies, depending you who you ask.

Some will tell you four to six weeks and other will tell you six to eight
weeks. So..if you get your invitations out six weeks prior or at least so that they receive
them six weeks prior, you should be in good shape. If you wedding is on a
holiday weekend or around a major holiday, or even in the summer when vacations
are planned, you will want to give your guests the full eight weeks notice so
they can plan to be sure they are available.

As for when to order your invitations, a lot depends on how much time you think
you are going to need to get them addressed, assembled, stamped, sealed, and
mailed. If you are having a calligrapher address the envelopes for you, you
need to check her schedule and be sure that she has ample time to get yours
done by the date you need them. You might have to have them done even earlier
than you really need to mail them, just to fit into her schedule.

I’m not sure how long it takes other companies to get wedding invitations
printed, but we need a couple of days in house, generally although they can be
rushed if necessary. Of course you can select any shipping method you like from
ground to overnight.
