Beautiful Wedding Invitations

Wedding Invitations

More of Hawaii

Yesterday in the wedding etiquette section, I shared some very unique Hawaiian wedding ideas that people have actually done. Perhaps they will give you some ideas for your future Hawaiian wedding.

Now for some more traditional customs….

Lei’s represent love and are a big tradition at weddings. To throw away a lei would represent throwing away love. A bride will often wear a real flower lei around her head vs a veil. Real flower leis are the most beautiful, but something fun for the kids are money leis and candy leis.

So you’re done with the wedding ceremony and now it’s Luau time! Luaus are a famous Hawaiian tradition for any special occasion that deserves a party and a feast, especially weddings. They are full of food, music, hula dancing and other entertainment and fun.

Modern day luaus tend to include a variety of integrated foods from many cultures that have migrated to Hawaii. The most common dishes are of course Polynesian, Filipino, Japanese, Portuguese, American, Chinese and Korean.

The most famous traditional food seems to be the pig roast. This pig is actually wrapped in leaves and cooked in the ground, resulting in a very tender & juicy treat, packed with natural flavor.

Now that’s I’ve made you hungry, I will let you go get something to eat. Feel free to explore the rest of this site for some more great information.
