Being Prepared For A Medical Emergency.

In planning our weddings, something we usually don’t think about is “what if someone has a heart attack? What if someone cuts themselves? What if someone goes into a diabetic comma? What if someone goes into labor?”, etc.
We could drive ourselves crazy thinking about the “what ifs”, but it doesn’t hurt to be prepared.

If you know one of the above is a serious possibility here are some suggestions to be prepared:

• Have a first aid kit. Be sure to include band-aids especially if there’s going to be children.
• If you have a paramedic friend, be sure to invite them.
• Hire a nurse, doctor or paramedic for the day, depending on the situation.
• Have a number of friends, family & other guests carry cell phones on them, incase someone needs to call 9-1-1. Just be sure the phones are on silent and the people you assigned, understand the drill and know their phone manners during the ceremony.
• Be sure the diabetics have their insulin. Also have some orange juice or other sugar incase their blood sugar drops too low.
• Be sure anyone with severe allergies has their epi-pens.
• Be sure anyone with severe asthma has their meds.

Hopefully you’ll never have to worry about this.

We’ll see you tomorrow with more wedding etiquette tips, hints, stories, etc. Have a wonderful wedding!
