Christmas Lights Illuminate Wedding
Ashley Black always knew that she wanted to have her wedding in Christmas Town USA. Every year, Ashley and her family would visit the town, also known as McAdenville, North Carolina, to take in the beautiful Christmas lights.
Last friday, Ashely had her chance. Along with her fiance Robby Hedrick, they made a last minute decision to move up their wedding to Thanksgiving weekend. Originally, the couple was to be married at the Stowe Botanical Garden. But Christmas Town was still calling their name.
The couple visited McAdenville on Thanksgiving, but found out that the Christmas lights were not lit yet. They stopped at the home of the Redmonds to inquire about the lights, who quickly offered to host the couple’s wedding in their house.
However, without the lights, their wedding just wouldn’t be the same. The mayor could not guarantee that the lights would be ready in time, as they were not scheduled to be lit until December 1st.
The couple forged on, however. In the middle of their wedding ceremony, the town lit up with the famous and beautiful lights that earned it the name of Christmas Town USA. The city workers had decided to test the lights, just in time for Ashley’s and Robby’s wedding.
Their dream wedding had been realized, thanks to a bit of spontaneous planning and a touch of luck. Their Christmas wedding could not have been better for the happy couple. After the ceremony, the newlyweds spent time soaking in all the beautiful sights of McAdenville, aglow with Christmas cheer.
