Feeding Children

See if your caterer will offer a children’s menu selection if you will have youngsters at your wedding. There is not sense in paying for a fancy four-course for a child who will not eat it.

A separate children’s table for ages four and up (since smaller ones will probably eat with their parents) is a nice option to offer to your little guests.

If you are having a children’s table, entrees of grilled cheese sandwiches, hamburgers, or macaroni and cheese, with French friends on the side, are great, inexpensive choices.

If many children will be attending your reception, a kids’ mini-buffet, a small sundae bar, or a milkshake station could be fun additions. Consult with your caterer.

Have some activities at the children’s table such as crayons, coloring books, LEGOs or small blocks, or even a simple art project or puzzles to keep them occupied.

Arrange to have nannies or baby sitters to watch the children so their parents can enjoy the adult reception.

Just be sure that the nannies or sitters have a list of the children’s names and their parents’ table numbers in case they need to locate the adults during the meal.
