Flowers on a Budget - Ideas
First thing you need to do is establish a realistic budget
You could hire a florist, or you may consider having your wedding and/or reception where there are already flowers in bloom. Or you could do both.
Having your big day in a flower filled private or public garden or parks, is a great way to save on the cost of flowers ;0). Of course you would need to be in the right season. Obviously that wouldn’t work for people in Canada during the winter.
Another budget saving idea for you…Some reception halls and churches have weddings back to back on certain days. You can always ask about the possibility of sharing the flowers and cost from the wedding before. This is a win win situation for both wedding parties.
You may also want to select a place that requires little decoration. The less decorating you need, the less you have to spend on decorations. Gardens also fall into this category. I attended a reception held at a reception hall that had various rooms with different themes. The decorations were permanent which meant a lot less time and hassle for the employees. It kept the cost lower because the employees worked less hours. They didn’t need to spend a lot of extra time decorating.
