Nightmare Before Christmas Themed Wedding continued…
In continuation from yesterdays wedding etiquette blog…
Although it was wonderful to find an old building that fit the theme so perfectly, it came with the typical “old building issues”. Apparently the air conditioning was inconveniently “broken” in that specific room. The reception hall had conveniently left out this little detail until it was apparent to everyone and the brides hair was sticking to her face with sweat. The wedding planner was told if they wanted air conditioning in that room, they would have had to pay an additional $500 to get it working. In my opinion, if the hall can get a repair person there and the air conditioning working that quickly (before the reception’s over), then it’s not that broken. Sounds more like a convenient quick way to make an extra buck.
Now when it came down to the chocolate fountain, it was opened long before it was supposed to be and only about 60 people got to enjoy it. Despite the fact that the couple was charged for 220 quests to enjoy it, all the servers refused to refill it. So the reception hall pocketed the difference.
On top of all these inconveniences, the reception hall is trying to hit the couple with an additional $495 fee because the facility thought they were trying to sneak in an extra hour. For all the delays caused by the facility because they lost a receipt, this was awfully gutsy of them.
Stay tuned for the next wedding etiquette blog as I will share with you the wonderful ideas they came up with for this themed wedding.
