On Your Feet

Wear your shoes before the ceremony, and scrape up the bottoms so you don’t take a spill down the aisle.

Practice dancing to your wedding song in your shoes so you get used to moving in them.

Be sure to buy shoes one size bigger than normal, even if you have to put shoe pads in them. Your feet will swell during the ceremony and reception, and the extra room will help.

White ballet slippers also work well for wedding-day comfort and look feminine, too.

For extra comfort and practicality, some brides today wear sneakers decorated with pearls, sequins, and lace. If you choose to do so, plan to have a pair of dressier shoes too for your photos, first dance, and other times when your feet may be more visible.
