Wedding Invitations

For those outdoorsy folk who are planning their wedding reception and dinner outside, you may be interested in hearing about this hard learned lesson and somewhat comical true story.

A couple years ago two avid nature lovers decided to get married and have their wedding dinner and reception in the great outdoors. It was a grand sight. To make things simpler and knowing people like to eat right away, they decided to have the food all laid out and ready to go. The people setting up the tables of food had to run back to get something they forgot. Of course it was all covered in plastic wrap so bugs couldn’t get into it, but no one thought about the furry pests. Besides, the food and gifts would only be unattended for about fifteen minutes. Being a safe and low crime area, they apparently weren’t too worried about people stealing the gifts either. Needless to say when they all arrived they saw an army of raccoons scattering and fleeing for their lives. One person even swears one of the raccoons turned around, grinned and waved. Apparently these typical night time thieves and trouble makers couldn’t resist the aroma of all the fresh food, even in broad daylight. Not only was the food a mess and completely unrecoverable, the gifts were torn open and scattered. Luckily the happy couple took it in stride.

The couples wedding etiquette advice to everyone…if you have your event in the great outdoors, assign reliable people to stay with the food and gifts so they can scare away any unwanted vermin.
