Speghetti For Your Wedding Dinner. Is That Really A Good Idea?
Carley (a recent bride) would tell you “it’s a great idea to have spaghetti for the wedding dinner if you’re on a tight budget, but a bad idea if you don’t want to pay for your guests’ dry cleaning bills”.
Having an extremely tight budget and marrying into an Italian family, she thought it would be a good idea at first. There were no complaints as to the taste of the spaghetti, it as It was apparently the best tasting spaghetti many of the guest had ever had (family recipe on the grooms side). The problem was however how many people ended up ruining their beautiful dresses and suits with the mess it can make. Some of them actually insisted she and her husband pay for the dry cleaning bill.
What surprised the couple most was how many people didn’t know how to eat spaghetti. With as common as it is in America you’d think people would know how to eat it the way it needs to be eaten without making a mess. Most people were slurping up the saucy noodles and therefore splashing the sauce everywhere. Even Carley’s beautiful white wedding dress ended up splattered with sauce, courtesy of bridal party member sitting next to her.
So for those people that still want to have a spaghetti wedding dinner, then just prior to it being served, you may want to have a wedding etiquette class, the topic being “How To Eat Spaghetti”.
