Stories That Make Brides Want To Have Their Bridesmaid Do Contracts
Yesterday’s wedding etiquette blog discussed how some people are considering having their bridesmaids sign contracts. This debatable idea stemmed from the many unfortunate situations. Today I get to share those with you.
The most common story is that of the bridesmaid gaining so much weight (after the dresses have already been purchased by the bride) that they don’t fit into the original dress and a new one has to be purchased. The money and time spent on the dress is usually the issue here.
Then there are those jaw dropping stories that leave us in disbelief that someone could be so inconsiderate. For example, one bridesmaid intentionally left her dress at a service station on the way to the wedding because she didn’t like it. Now I don’t know what she ended up doing for the ceremony or if the bride was the one who paid for the dress, but I’m sure the bride was terribly surprised.
Another scenario specific to a bridesmaid dress was when the bridesmaid completely destroyed her very expensive dress (purchased by the bride) by staining it with car grease, bingo dob markers and food from a food fight she started. She didn’t even seem to care that the bride was crushed. Sure that was the only event she would ever wear that dress to, but her careless attitude, even after being approached about the issue, was just plain disrespectful. It’s no wonder this particular bride wished she had done an agreement contract.
Well, that’s all for today. Have an incredible weekend.
