Wedding Trends Spring 2009
December 26th, 2008 by debbysibert
With all the Winter weather we have been having lately, it is hard to imagine that Spring is right around the corner. Yet now is the perfect time to take a look at the upcoming wedding trends for the beginning of 2009.
- Intense shades of color are going to be everywhere this season. For wedding dresses, this can mean a scarlet red sash around your waste, or wide carnation pink hemlines and accents.
- Bridesmaids will also see a more colorful wedding season. Royal blue, sunflower yellow, and emerald green are just a few of the possibilities. If you are looking for a more demure color palette, mauve and periwinkle bridesmaids dresses will be good choices.
- Black is back as well. As an accent, black can add flair to your wedding dress or to your wedding reception. Black and white wedding favors will remind your guests of classic movies, hollywood style, or vintage weddings, all of which will be popular this year.
- Show off your legs. Flapper-inspired mini dresses will give brides a new sense of freedom. Whether above or below the knee, brides are looking for comfort and fun instead of traditional style.
- Have a close-knit wedding. Brides are reigning in their wedding budget this year, opting for smaller events with the closest friends and family in attendance. Look for more creative ways to make your dream wedding a reality.
What do you have in mind for your Spring 2009 wedding? Are you following along with the trends, or do you have something uniquely you in mind? Let us know what your wedding plans are in the comments!
