Why Entertaining the Kids Affects Wedding Etiquette
For the past few days I’ve been writing on the subject of “what to do with the kids during Christmas break so you can get the wedding plans done”. You’re probably ready for a new topic. Therefore today will be last of my suggestions for now.
I’m sure by now you may be wondering “what does this have to do with wedding etiquette?” Well, wedding etiquette isn’t just necessary for the actual ceremony, but also in the wedding preparations. When organizing a wedding you often have to talk to people. If you’re all stressed out and cranky from the kids driving you up the wall, it tends to affects the other people as well. You may find yourself being “short”, snappy, and overall rude. Therefore the goal is to minimize the stress levels so you can be the “pleasant you” we all know you can be. So let’s continue onto ideas to keep the kids entertained during the holiday break.
As I was writing on this topic I realized I need to follow my own advice and figure out what resources I have in my area to occupy my child during Christmas break. Even though I don’t have to plan a wedding, I still need to get other things done.
I simply hopped online and found things I didn’t even realize were around me. My first suggestion would be to make a list of all the activities you can think of. Then hop online and do a search for activities in your immediate area.
Some of the ideas I came across were:
- The Rec. Center (Swimming, etc.)
- Natural History Museum (Dinosaur Museum)
- Library
- Educational Websites
- Educational TV shows
- crafts, etc.
So get online. You’ll be amazed what you’ll come up with.
Happy wedding planning.
