Why Renew Your Vows?
If you two are happily married, why not do it all over again?
You can choose a special date for your event: commemorate and anniversary, the day you first kissed, or even your engagement.
Renewing your vows can be symbolic of a new beginning or a new chapter in your lives. For example, if your marriage has been rocky or you have been in counseling, you may want to renew your love for one another and get a fresh start.
If you have overcome a serious crisis, perhaps you have reason to celebrate your love.
You can also re-propose with a ring, necklace, or other token of love to symbolize your re-union.
A vow renewal ceremony is a chance to have the wedding you never had. Maybe you eloped or did not have enough money for the wedding of your dreams. Renewing your vows later in your marriage can give you the wedding you always imagined.
You can renew on a tenth, fifteenth, or twentieth anniversary, but you can renew any other time as well.
By the time you have been married a number of years, you have survived a great deal as a couple and have created hundreds of memories. You can personally design your ceremony to reflect your own history, especially if you write your own vows.
Or you can be more traditional and either recite the same words that brought you together at your wedding or use the same officiant you had at your wedding.
Consider planning a surprise renewal for you spouse—use a milestone anniversary celebration as a chance to celebrate your marriage all over again.
